Motor City Knits

Well, my name is Jessica and I was born and raised in the amazing Motor City, Detroit (I bet you guessed that already) and surrounded by the amazing and beautiful Great Lakes. I started knitting after my best friend Heather taught me when my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer.  As mom healed, I became more and more obsessed with knitting. How could you not? So after the moms full recovery (Yes, my mom kicked cancers ass, twice!) and getting a good dose of what was important in life and that its too short to waste doing something you hate, I decided to start Motor City Knits. I wanted to share what made me happy with everyone else in hopes that it will make you just as happy as it has me.

Although sadly, Motor City Knits isn’t my full time job (yet!), I do still attend college at the University of Michigan for Criminal Justice. I do already have a degree in Law Enforcement, but if I could make yarn my life, and not bad guys, I’m going to try.

I’m dorky, geeky, silly, dry witted, spunky, sassy and sometimes crabby. I love my pets to death, my 3 ducks, Charlie, Mister and Peanut, my two lizards, Bailey and Lola, and all my saltwater fish. Welcome to my crazy world that is my life!
